Gray overcast skies along the coast is common in the spring in Southern California. It usually burns off through the day, but mornings are gray and locals call it "May Gray" or "June Gloom" depending on the month. Here's the Manhattan Beach pier on the last of "May Gray": May 31, 2017.
Looking south from the edge of Inspiration Point, Palos Verdes, CA. Trump National Golf Course is on the headland in the distance. The waters here with their kelp forest are a fantastic spot to scuba dive or snorkel.
